Discover 2007's New Fashion Style

Every year around this time all the Glam and Style magazines are a buzz as to what the designers unveiled at "fashion week". 2007 seems to be no exception, as women everywhere want to know what fabrics, textures, colors and accessories are hot. Although spring has just begun, this article will discuss the new fashion styles already exploding on the scene.

With so many fashion designers out there, they don't always seem to agree on all the new fashion styles presented on the runway. One thing they do agree on is the "preppy/prissy look". To achieve this look, wear an Oxford shirt with either a tennis skirt (Yes! They are back in style) or a mini skirt (but not too MINI, so where as each step you take reveals what God gave you). If you really want to achieve this look, add a color coordinated tailored blazer. Topping the look off with a pair of strappy or chuncky sandals. For the more athletic look, wear a bright colored tank tee with a fresh pair of cool sneakers.

Another unanimous inclusion to this year's fashion style is embellishment. Done the wrong way and embellished clothing spells DISASTER. The way to avoid this is by finding monochromatic pieces. This meaning clothing with diamond studs, beads, etcetera with a single color. Favorites the designers love are silver, copper and bronze. Most popular are the blouses or dresses adorned with crystals, beads or even edgy studs that move freely and flow fashionably on the body. When you find a blouse or a dress that is simply "to die for", go for the total "glam look" by adding a pair of strappy or chunky high heels and a matching handbag.

Patent leather has resurfaced as another hot material. It's popping up on more than just accessories this season. You can find patent leather coats, skirts, purses and shoes. The "new patent leather" gives a boost of high gloss finish anywhere it presents itself. However, you must keep in mind to make sure to keep it simple when wearing this material, so not to have it clash with other textures that are also on the scene.

Finally, the finishing touch....accessories. Statement jewels are all the rave this season. Showing up on everyone who is anyone, from New York, NY to Milan. Bangles on one or both wrists will make any ensemble you put on, sizzle with pizazz! (Most designers recommend gold, it never goes out of style) If bangles aren't for you, you may feel more comfortable in a big bold necklace with matching earrings (something with spring colors that compliment what you are wearing). Embellished handbags are always a bonus.

These are just SOME of the new fashion styles hitting all major and minor department stores worldwide. With all the different designers, styles, prints, textures and colors, it's enough to have you feeling overwhelmed. With a little time and practice, you be able to pick out the perfect ensemble and accessories in an instant! A guarantee to feel as beautiful as you will look!!

Creating The Fall 2007 Fashion Story

The runways are now quiet as the major fashion shows for Fall 2007 have concluded. Fashion buyers and stylists from around the country are busy analyzing the presentations; looking for overall trends, color stories, saleable looks, and hot new items. While each designer presents his or her own version of the fall story; there are always looks unique to each collection, but there also are many looks which appear in some form in several collections. These common elements create the Fall 2007 story!

The item predicted to be the dominate fashion focus of the Spring-Summer 2007 season was the dress. It has definitely morphed into an important look rather than just a trend. Transitioning into the fall season, the dress remains an important, although less dominate look. However, one specific color, gray, has made the dress a stand-out and a focal point showing up repeatedly in collections for fall. Silhouettes are somewhat slimmer for the fall season, with the voluminous styling from spring far less evident. But dresses are very much a part of the fall story.

Another trend showing up in many collections is the concept of seasonless clothing. This means fabrics that can cross seasons, and colors that look right in any season. This is an idea that really seems to fit our mobile life styles and the way we travel as well.

While dresses are very important for fall, they are not the only option for the season. The new look in pants is the trouser! Slouchy, menswear trousers showed up repeatedly in fall collections. Give them a high-waist, make them slouchy and they become very chic for fall. Show them off with lace-up boots, a subtle platform shoe, or as some designers did, show them with spats! This menswear look has almost a retro feel to it! Add a hat to your ensemble, and you are truly looking 2007!

And if you need to dress-up for a special event, keep in mind that evening wear is definitely glamorous. Watch for metallic looks, sequins, fur, and feathers on gowns creating the femme-fatale look! Usually jewelry is an important part of any evening look, but for 2007, the jewelry look is minimal. A big cocktail ring, a bold bangle bracelet, and a slimmer chandelier style earring are the popular jewelry looks that accent the glamorous evening wear.

One of the most important aspects of Fall 2007 is the use of color, lots of rich color! The Pantone Fashion Color Report for Fall 2007 describes the fall palette as nuanced colors with subtle undertones enhancing ever-present neutrals and allowing for clever and extraordinary color combinations. Although black is always the strong neutral, Carafe (espresso brown) becomes a new alternative; while gray, which has been strong the past two seasons, now becomes Dusk, which has a violet undertone. Combining it with the spicy Chili Pepper (red), Lemon Curry (mustard), or Purple Wine (blend of purple and wine) will enliven any wardrobe. Nature tones of Shale Green (blue gray tone), Moss Green (yellow tone) and Burnt Ochre (autumn's orange) bring a level of sophistication to these earthy tones. Accents such as Cashmere Rose (soft medium rose) or Stargazer (deep turquoise) become the perfect complements to most fall colors. Show your creativity by finding fun color combinations! And don't be afraid to try something new!

Fall 2007 is showing promise as a season of comfortable looks, with just a touch of new styling and new, rich colors. There are plenty of style and color options for everyone to find new favorite looks!

Properties and Characteristics of Silk

Cultivated silk from the Bombyx mori silkworm, which is and has always been the most common type of silk used, has a number of interesting and desirable properties that have been admired for over 5,000 years.

First of all, silk takes well to dyes, both natural and synthetic, which results in colorful fabrics. Another property of silk is its soft feel, and it retains it shape well, even after having been stretched. In appearance silk has a sheen and luminosity that makes it look luxurious. Since silk production is labor intensive and costly it has often been used by royalty and people of wealth for centuries, and it has in fact sometimes become a symbol for wealth and achievement. In England, for example, when an attorney reaches a certain status and earns the honor of being a QC (for Queen's Council), he or she is said to "take the silk". From then on they will wear a silk gown during court proceedings. In fact silk dresses from pure English silk are normally worn in royal weddings in England, and this is a tradition that has been upheld for centuries. There are still small silk making operations located there in modern times.

Silk has the property of being a very flexible material. For example, a silk scarf can readily be pulled through a wedding ring, and it will quickly retake its original shape without a lot of wrinkling. It is light in weight, and it can be easily folded. Silk scarves are excellent for women who travel, as a lady can change her look by changing scarves and can get away with carrying fewer outfits than she normally might wear at home. In addition, silk tends to fall naturally and hangs delicately when used as clothing. This gives it an appeal over other fabrics that are more stiff and rigid. In addition, silk holds its structural integrity and will not rot. Silk is also more heat resistant than many other fabrics, including wool, for example, and is actually rather difficult to burn.

One remarkable property of silk is its high tensile strength and its fibers will not easily be torn or damaged. It is also an elastic material that can be stretched and then will recover to its original size unless stretched beyond 20-25% of its original length. It has been used in the past in making guy ropes to take advantage of this characteristic.

Silk clothing keeps one cool in the summer, and it provides surprising warmth in the winter and is often used as an insulation layer in different types of clothing or even in sleeping bags. Silk can absorb a fairly significant amount of moisture before it feels wet.

Silk can be woven together with other fabrics in blends, and it is most often used in articles of clothing such as dresses, pants, sweaters, gowns, and shirts, for example. Silk ties for men have a look and feel that is exceptional, and many men prefer silk ties and use them almost exclusively.

For all these reasons silk has been desired for centuries. The secrets of its production were held tightly in China for over 2,000 years, but finally the knowledge and raw materials (silkworms and mulberry trees) were to be found elsewhere in the world, and many countries had a significant number of people employed in the production of silk goods. China is today the world leader in silk production, just as it was several thousand years ago. China produces over half the world's silk, and India accounts for about a quarter of the Chinese production. India is, however, the leader in production of wild silks, that is, silk spun from species of silkworms other than B. mori which live in the wild, such as the tussah silkmoth. Silk production from these wild silkworms is much less predictable and much more difficult to control, since these insects cannot be domesticated like the B. mori. Furthermore, tussah silk is said to be somewhat more coarse than silk from B. mori. Despite the arrival of less costly synthetic fabrics like rayon and nylon, the properties and characteristics of silk account for its continued significant demand.

My Top Ten Tips to Keep Your Man Interested

1. Don't Suffocate Your Man

I don't mean he should go out to the pub every night without you as this would not be fair to you, but men (and women) do need a certain amount of freedom.

2. Always Keep A Little Of Yourself Back

A certain element of mystery keeps it fresh and is challenging. Let him have enough that he's secure, but not too much that you appear boring or too available!

3. Tell Him You Love Him At Least Once A Day

Men really are big babies on the whole, and it makes them feel special.

4. Bodily Functions Are a Definite Turn-Off

Passing wind and belching are very unattractive, and going to the toilet in front of your man really is not necessary. Sharing should not extend to these habits!

5. Don't Let Yourself Go

This has nothing to do with weight or size - lets face it we come in all packages and who determines what's sexy and what's not. I'm talking about keeping yourself and your hair clean and presentable. This will not only make you feel better about yourself, but also shows that you still care enough to be bothered. You don't have to get all tarted up around the house, just make an effort to look nice and fresh.

6. Be Spontaneous

Don't be afraid to try something new and exiting - find out your mans innermost sexual fantasies and surprise him - he'll love it and you'll probably enjoy it too. This really helps to keep things spicy.

7. Buy Some Really Sexy Lingerie

It will make you feel hot and sexy, and your man will find it irresistible! There are so many sexy and fun styles available on the market right now you'll be spoilt for choice. Look at some lingerie websites with your man - you can have fun choosing it together without subjecting him to the embarrassment of high street shops.

8. Be Good Friends

Listen to each other, have fun and laugh a lot.

9. Keep The Moaning To A Minimum

Moaning really infuriates men so if you have to, moan to your best friend instead.

10. Show An Interest In His Hobbies

You don't have to take them up yourself, just appear to be interested!

Many thanks for reading - now go forth, apply my rules, and keep your man interested!! Or for those of you trying to get rid of him - just do the opposite!!

Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2007

After the strange shapes and bizarre proportions of last season's clothes, normality has returned to the world of fashion and flatteringly proportioned clothes were seen on the catwalks for spring and summer 2007.

The main themes were romantic clothes in diaphanous fabrics with frills, bright prints in floral, Pucci-esque and ethic designs, craft inspired appliqué and patchwork, metallics in shades of pewter and sixties-style graphical black and white prints.

The hottest trend for this summer is the dress, and not just any dress, it has to be short; the longest is just on the knee but many were so short that the word tunic barely sufficed, and the dresses would need to be worn over trousers to be decent.

These dresses follow every big style trend of the season. Styles were mainly shifts or empire line, with shirtwaisters as a more demure and grown-up option. As for the designs, they follow all the hottest trends; romantic frilled dresses in floating, floral prints, metallic fabrics, craft-led folk designs and patchwork and graphical black and white.

The hottest colour tips are bright neons for summer, particularly acid yellow and Yves Klein blue. Fortunately there are plenty of cool, casual neutrals in beige, peach, sand and stone available too.

The couture catwalks also showed lots of futuristic designs, robot-like metal dresses, shimmering fabrics and eccentric shapes.

Looking forward to holiday time, fashionable beachwear includes white one-piece swimsuits, short shorts, huge face covering sunglasses and Grecian-style sandals.

Trouser-lovers are in for a lean time this season, as there were no jeans to be seen, and trousers were few and far between.

Handbag lovers still have plenty to drool over as bags are still big, big, big! Shoes are either thin-strapped sandals or high platforms or wedges. Carrying on from last season, necklaces are still big, bold, statement pieces and earrings once more are tiny or non-existent. If you don't want to wear a necklace then a huge bangle will also put you on-trend.

How to Date a Sexy Russian Woman

Dating a sexy Russian woman is much easier than one would think. There are three hurdles to first overcome before diving into the sexy Russian woman dating scene!

1. Get over your pre-historic hang ups! What this means is to first remember and embrace the time in which you live. This is truly an electronic age where the typical old rules of how to go about living life are now thrown out the window. You don't go and use a pay phone when you have a cell phone on you. You no longer rent vhs tapes when dvd is available. You don't go driving 300 miles to a junkyard that might have the right part for your car when you can hop on ebay and get it. So goes the rules for dating and finding attractive women. No one goes to bars anymore week after week after week hoping to maybe talk to a woman when you can find a sexy Russian woman online in one night and begin conversing with her right away. The point is we live in a new kind of world and the possibilities are pretty amazing and should be taken advantage of. Being able to easily date a sexy Russian woman is one of those amazing advantages we now have.

2. Get over your physical distance hang-ups! Now that the mental hang-ups over meeting a sexy Russian woman are out of the way, the physical road blocks need to be dealt with. When there is lack of one element, there is usually an abundance of another. This is the case with engaging in a relationship with a sexy Russian woman. While the distance physically may seem far, the closeness you will achieve through continual communication online will be so great that you'll see why typical, standard American relationships, fail so often. Communication is always the number one factor in relationships, and to think you are mastering that aspect from the very start, creates a powerful opportunity for a successful relationship with a sexy Russian woman. And when you finally meet the sexy Russian woman it will be much more significant and meaningful, while all the back and forth formalities of getting to know one another will already have been achieved. Remember as well, that while the physical distance is great, we do live in a time where one can hop on an airplane and be only several hours away from meeting with a sexy Russian woman.

3. Get help! Don't go into your search for a sexy Russian woman alone. As always it is important to find the safest, honest, and most efficient path to take when entering into any new and exciting adventure. Researching and reading the right route to take when looking to date a sexy Russian woman involves finding the right websites, advice forums, and learning the proper etiquette. It also involves researching Russian culture, especially up to date information on the social scene, important news, and latest trends.

Dating a sexy Russian woman can be exciting and very rewarding. You get to learn a great deal about another culture, you build a strong bond through the communication relationship you develop online, and you're taking advantage of living in this incredible, unique, electronic world, where dating a sexy Russian woman can literally be a few clicks away!
